Phytoembryotherapy is a branch of phytotherapy which particularly incorporates embryological plant tissues (buds, young shoots, etc.) containing undifferentiated plant meristem cells, cells which multiply very quickly and where the material and genetic portrait of the plant are located. These embryonic tissues are rich in beneficial phytochemicals such as growth factors, plant hormones, enzymes, nucleic acids, trace elements and phytonutrients like polyphenols and flavonoids. These embryological tissues are also used because many of the elements mentioned above are lost in fully developed plants, once chlorophyll is formed. These embryological tissues are also used because their energetic elements are at their highest level when they are harvested in spring, which is the most active phase of their growth cycle.
