Balanced Immune is designed to support immune balance and tissue health, in part by targeting the NLRP and NF-κB pathways to modulate cytokine production. NLRPs (NOD-like receptor proteins) act as intracellular sensors for oxidative and environmental stressors. Research suggests that vitamin D supports a healthy cellular response, in part through modulation of this pathway. This formula provides cellular protection against oxidative stress by promoting the transcription pathways of many genes and enzymes. Resveratrol supports the activity of Nrf2, a transcription factor that supports cellular function by promoting protection against oxidative stress. The curcumin in this formula comes from the patented, clinically studied Meriva® curcumin-phosphatidylcholine complex, which provides improved efficiency in assimilation and resistance to breakdown in the digestive tract. Pharmacokinetic data suggests 20 times greater absorption than standard curcumin. Balanced Immune also contains broccoli, primarily recognized for the bioactive component sulforaphane, and SIRTMAX® black galangal extract, which was studied in a double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study.
