- Promotes healthy body fat when combined with a healthy diet and exercise
- May support a moderate reduction in body fat when combined with a healthy lifestyle including reduced caloric intake and increased physical activity
- Contains the main isomers c9,t11 and t10,c12 in a 39:39 ratio.
CLA is a trans isomer naturally found in linoleic acid. Its structure is unique due to the location of double bonds in the linoleic acid molecule. Pure Encapsulations' Enhanced Concentration CLA provides an average of 77% of total CLA and contains the major isomers c9,t11 and t10,c12. Recent research shows that the c9,t11 and t10,c12 isomers play key roles in many physiological properties of CLA. CLA may be good for body constitution when used as part of a healthy weight management program that includes reduced calorie intake and increased physical activity. In a preliminary study of 60 overweight subjects, conjugated linoleic acid reduced body fat when combined with a routine exercise training program. Several animal studies have explored the possible mechanisms of CLA, including the ability to reduce fat deposition, increase lipolysis in adipocytes, reduce energy intake, increase energy expenditure, and support metabolic rate.
