HMF Forte is a combination of four proprietary human-sourced probiotic strains supporting gastrointestinal health in adults and children. This product is a mixture of two strains of Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL-60 and CUL-21), Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis (CUL-34) and Bifidobacterium bifidum (CUL-20), strains that promote colonization of the small and large intestines. These proprietary strains were chosen due to their superior quality, viability, strong epithelial adhesion and naturally high stomach acid tolerance. We have also conducted clinical studies to evaluate their effectiveness; they are among the probiotic cultures that have been the subject of the greatest number of studies in the world. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study in 138 adults, taking supplements containing the combination of probiotics in HMF Forte was found to reduce the incidence of diarrhea associated with C. difficile in adults taking antibiotics. In addition to this blend of research-based probiotics, HMF Forte also contains fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), a type of prebiotic fiber that promotes the development of beneficial bacteria in the intestines.
