It is a patented strain that has a remarkably longer and more stable shelf life than other probiotic supplements, and has a lower loss rate than other Bifidobacterium strains exposed to multiple different temperatures.
Isolated from healthy human digestive tracts, Bifidobacterium has long been recognized as a beneficial genus, constituting more than 90% of total gastrointestinal bacteria in breastfed infants. It has been shown to have multiple immunomodulatory effects, such as increasing secretory IgA production and NK cell and neutrophil activity, as well as balancing Th1 and Th2 immune activity. It has also been shown to improve mucosal barrier function in the colon, in part by upregulating tight junction molecules.
