- High dose of EPA for mental health and optimal mood balance (based on science)
Depression can affect people at any stage of life. A person suffering from depression may experience a variety of symptoms which may include fatigue, difficulty concentrating, change in appetite, irritability, agitation, withdrawal, insomnia or excessive sleeping and, in some cases, thoughts of death.
The causes of depression are still unknown, but imbalances of neurotransmitters or chemicals in the brain are thought to contribute to the symptoms. Several pharmaceutical agents can be used to manage mood imbalances, however, many of them have unwanted and negative side effects.
Fish oil, and more specifically EPA, has been the subject of much research for the role it can play in managing mood imbalances.
